How a drawing should be prepared for laser cutting and bending with abcant

What technical information do you need to provide? Here you can get the complete information about the requirements of the drawings in the manufacture of laser cut parts with additional abcant bending.

How a drawing should be prepared for laser cutting

We use technical drawings to perfectly manufacture your component. We need the drawing to check information about bend dimensions, hole sizes, etc. during production.

1 Specification of bending dimensions

For bent parts, we need all relevant dimensions to be checked by us when folding the abcant. Please ensure that you specify and dimension all bend lengths, angles (non-90°) and corresponding bend radii.

2 Information about the projection method

The details are usually displayed in a 3-sided projection. We use the European method of projection on the example drawing. From this you can see how the views are derived from the master view. If you use a different projection method, we cannot guarantee correct production according to your drawings.

3 Technical drawing of countersink

If you wish to subsequently create countersinks, only the core circles of the hole should be present in a vector DXF file.

4 Technical drawing of a thread

If you wish to have threads made afterwards, please specify size and position of the thread. Only the core circles of the threaded hole should be present in a vector DXF file.

Standard threads are produced according to ISO 742 / DIN 13-1.

5 Information on the visible side / foiled side

If you wish to order foiled sheet metal or have a "visible side" preference, please let us know which side the component should be on if not selected on upload. When we cut based on the 2D vector file you attached, the top view is the selected side by default.

6 Laser start point information (optional)

Depending on the size of the component and manufacturing options, a microbridge is placed at the starting point of the laser cut to prevent the component from tilting. Do you have any precise ideas regarding the start of laser cutting because of the design? Then just mark that position on the drawing and give us a shout in the comment box. This can be useful if you want to avoid material roughness at a certain point on the component affecting the mounting behavior to other components.
